The Forgotten OH! - Emotional First Aid Kit
The first emotional first aid kit for children, designed by our art therapist.
The Forgotten OH! - Emotional First Aid Kit is published by Not a Gallery and is the first interactive learning tool specifically designed for parents and children. Leung Ching Wan, Gigi, a UK-registered art therapist, integrated psychological first aid guidelines with multisensory integration stimuli. This kit guides children to understand and process emotions that are difficult to express, helping them learn healthy ways to communicate.
The First Aid Kit includes a storybook and a Parent User Guide. The interactive picture story features two main characters: Jimmy, who becomes agitated and nervous when stimulated, and Oh, who hides away. The distance between them gradually closes through small exercises until Oh grows stronger and gently embraces the anxious Jimmy.
The storybook incorporates interactive elements, such as sensory games, mirrors, emotion dials, and an emotional thermometer. It also features personalized spaces where children can add their favorite stickers and photos to complete their own unique First Aid Kit. The Parent User Guide explains the underlying emotional first aid concepts, helping parents master effective ways to soothe their child's emotions and enhance their resilience.
